30 day Challenge-Week 1 Review!

Alright. I have just about completed my first 7 days of this 30 day Challenge and honestly I have NEVER felt better!

I haven't cheated once. I am eating lots of eggs, veggies, some fruit, nuts, dried fruit, and different types of meats. When I started this, I knew I was going to be perfect at keeping the rules however I wasn't expecting the change in my families eating habits to happen as quickly. I didn't throw away the snack foods...goldfish crackers, graham crackers, fruit snacks, cereals, etc. but after the 2nd or third day I no longer wanted to give them those things (even though it is much easier). The boys snacks now consist of boiled eggs, veggies, fruits, I also made these delicious energy bars out of nuts and dried fruit. This change is what has made me the most happy! Robby and the boys are not eating perfect but it is so much better.

Like I said before we didn't eat horribly as a family and I would even consider the way we ate to be pretty healthy but now I realize it wasn't all that great!

Here are the results of week 1...
1. I feel great.

2. Zero weight loss (most people lose a lot the first week but not me and I think the reason for that is probably because I don't have too much weight to lose. I would like to lose about 4 pounds but it's not necessary). What I am trying for right now is to get toned.

3. I can eat whatever I want as long as it's the right food and my weight has stayed the same. This is what has surprised me the most! Yesterday I felt like I was eating the whole entire day and I was nervous to step on the scale but to my surprise my weight was the same!

4. The food I am making is the best food I have ever had. seriously.

5. I am going broke. This food is $$$! A normal lunch for my boys would be grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, etc. Now I am making them grilled chicken salad!

6. No cravings whatsoever. This is huge for me.

  1. Go April GO! We have been working on the same things, but haven't made a complete 100% change. It has been slow and gradual for us. Rob has taken over wanting to be the healthy food chef in our family. I do the toning/exercising thing. I have watched several of these health and fitness and food videos on NETFLIX lately and it has got us eating even more veggies. I have been throwing in more veggies in our smoothies and the kids haven't noticed. Thanks for doing the blog. You will surely inspire many and motivate us all.
